My name is Vera and I am your 2023 Miss Teen South Carolina Earth. I founded Reading Nook 3 years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic. I couldn't imagine anyone at home without a book.  Today, as we’re ‘back to normal’ Reading Nook is still sharing great stories, but with a focus! Books about our environment - and ways you can make a difference protecting our wildlife and wild places! 

I’ve been blessed to grow up on the coast of South Carolina and have loved the beaches, plants and wildlife as long as I’ve been alive. I would love to share with you why protecting our wildlife and wild places is so important.  Would you join me in reading about our natural world and helping educate others to care for this amazing planet we call home?
